SPECIAL ISSUES
The Journal of Process Mechanical Engineering has an active programme of Special Issues on topics of particular interest. Special Issues currently in prepartion include Powder Processing; Nuclear Waste Processing; and Process Simulation.
2008, VOL. 222
Compressors and their Systems, issue E4. Guest-edited by IK Smith and N Stosic.
The accompanying papers in this special edition are a sample of those presented at the 2007 IMechE/CUL conference, revised for presentation in journal form. They cover only a small fraction of the range of topics covered but it is hoped that their presentation to a wider non-specialist readership will encourage a greater involvement in this area, espe- cially now that environmental protection legislation requires continual improvements in efficiency, noise suppression and manufacturing processes, while increased competition forcesmanufacturers to look for reduced design and development times and costs.
