16 February 2010: PE Publishing Prize 2009
The PE Publishing prize for the best paper published in the Journal of Materials: Design and Applications in the 2009 volume has been awarded to M Grujicic, T He, B Pandurangan, W C Bell, B A Cheeseman, W N Roy and R R Skaggs for their paper Development, parameterization, and validation of a visco-plastic material model for sand with different levels of water saturation. This paper is now free to view and download.
01 July 2009: 2008 Impact Factor
The 2008 Impact Factor for Journal of Materials: Design and Applications is 0.451, an increase of more than 80% on last year.

Professor William Banks, Editor of Journal of Materials: Design and Applications, is Chairing the 17th International Conference on Composite Materials. The conference will be held in Edinburgh International Conference Centre from 27 to 31 July 2009.

The PE Publishing prize for the best paper published in the Journal of Materials: Design and Applications in the 2007 volume has been awarded to S L Soo and D K Aspinwall for their paper Developments in modelling of metal cutting processes. This paper was published in the Special Issue on Modelling of Manufacturing Processes and is now free to view and download.
