19 February 2010: PE Publishing Prize 2009

The PE Publishing Prize for the best paper published in the Journal of Engineering for the Maritime Environment in 2009 has been awarded to B Leira, L Børsheim, Ø Espeland and J Amdahl for their paper Ice-load estimation for a ship hull based on continuous response monitoring . The paper was published in issue M4 of Volume 223, pages 529 to 540, and is available free online.

 

05 August 2009: Special Issue on Fluid-Structure Interactions

11 March 2009: PE Publishing Prize 2008

The PE Publishing Prize for the best paper published in the Journal of Engineering for the Maritime Environment in 2008 has been awarded to C A Douglas, G P Harrison and J P Chick for their paper Life cycle assessment of the Seagen marine current turbine. The paper was published in issue M1 of Volume 222, pages 1 to 12, and is available free online.

01 January 2009: New Members of the Editorial Board

We are delighted to welcome six new members to the Editorial Board this year: Professor Makoto Arai (Yokohama National University), Professor Richard Birmingham (University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne), Professor Richard Flay (University of Auckland), Dr Yonghwan Kim (Seoul National University), Professor Helen Sampson (Cardiff University) and Professor V Sundar (IIT Madras).

06 March 2008: PE Publishing Prize 2007

The PE Publishing Prize for the best paper published in the Journal of Engineering for the Maritime Environment in 2007 has been awarded to A Papanikolaou, E Eliopoulou, A Alissafaki, N Mikelis, S Aksu and S Delautre for their paper Casualty analysis of Aframax tankers. The paper was published in issue M2 of Volume 221, pages 47 to 60, and is available free online.

 

10 July 2007: Engineering Open Choice launched

Authors of papers accepted for publication in the Journal of Engineering for the Maritime Environment can now opt to make their articles open access.
