About Us

Professional Engineering Publishing Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers . It publishes a range of scholarly journals, magazines and other products.

P E Publishing publishes 18 journals across a variety of subjects of interest to the international engineering community . 16 journals are grouped within the Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers , each with its own identity, international editorial board, and separately available . Journals are available online (as well as in hard copy) – most have been since 1997, and in 2006 a digital archive of the IMechE Proceedings 1847-1996 was launched.

Professional Engineering (PE) is the flagship magazi ne for engineers . Its web presence is at http://www.profeng.com/. Automotive Engineer is a magazine aimed at engineers, and is principally circulated within UK and continental Europe . There is an associated web portal at http://www.ae-plus.com/. Several other magazines, supplements and web products are produced, not only in association with IMechE, but also for a variety of other organisations.

The company has about 45 staff based at Birdcage Walk , London . The company has its own Board of Directors and operates as a trading company. It transfers profit to the IMechE to assist it in its support and promotion of mechanical engineering.
